Accessing the library from off campus
From WolfWikis
Can you?
Short answer: Yes.
There's very little you can't do remotely using the Libraries' website.

Databases
Nearly all databases work via the website. Only a few databases are exceptions, so unless we mention it otherwise, assume you can get it off campus.
The few exceptions:
- SciFinder Scholar. A web version is now available, but the client version is still campus-use only. (See the VCL page for other options.)
- Beilstein/Gmelin. Access via CrossFire Commander requires you to be on campus. (See the VCL page for other options.)
- A few specialty business and patent databases, and a handful of electronic reference books.
Journals
The majority of math and science journals are available electronically via library subscription. If we have a subscription, you can get to it via the Journals page. Some journals are still print-only, so you'd have to visit the library to read a physical copy, scan, or make photocopies.
Books
Most books are still print-only. But we do have numerous e-books, and are collecting more all the time.
Getting help
Visiting the reference desk or your subject specialist librarian is always good, but you can also get help online.
