CALS PROPOSAL PROCESSING INFORMATION REPOSITORY

High-Level Process


  • Find your grant
  • Fill out the appropriate application
    • Sometimes paper
    • Sometimes Grants.gov [US Government agencies]
    • Sometimes Fastlane [NSF]
    • Sometimes some other electronic system [Private foundations, industry and foreign governments]
  • Enter it into PINS and start the routing*
  • CALS contracts & grants is notified by PINS that the proposal is being routed. PROPOSAL SUPERVISOR assigns the proposal to a PROCESSOR.
  • PROCESSOR reviews the proposal and contacts you with feedback about the proposal. CALS Contracts & Grants reviews the budget & budget justification, application forms, and, if there is time, the detailed requirements of submission (# of pages allowed, margin size, etc.) We do not review the technical proposal.

General Grant Information


Peer Reviews - Requires 3 written peer reviews turned in with proposal, Proposal Supervisor prepares a letter to go with proposal certifying that the proposal has been through a peer review.
