Information from the site:

The CDS bibliographic service provides access to two complementary data holdings:
- the bibliographic references of the Simbad database; when using this dataset be aware that papers related to theoretical subjects, or to solar system objects are generally not in Simbad.
- the recent abstracts of several major journals: Astronomy and Astrophysics Main Journal and Supplement Series, AAS journals (ApJ, ApJS, ApJL, AJ), PASP, and New Astronomy. Abstracts of Astronomy & Astrophysics are made available at CDS several weeks in advance of publication.
Warning: Note that the same material is made available through the ADS, where plenty of additional papers and abstracts can also be found: ADS should therefore be prefered for general queries.

In summary, ADS is better for most literature searches.
