Troubleshooting
Ask the chemistry librarians if you encounter any problem not discussed here.
Installing software
Note that you must install browser updates before you can access databases via DiscoveryGate. This additional software primarily updates your Java client, but also enables linking between DiscoveryGate databases. Refer to the installation instructions for help with this.
Java problems
DiscoveryGate is very sensitive to Java updates on your computer. Most users update their Java client whenever prompted through automatic updates, but this could affect compatibility with DiscoveryGate. After accessing the DiscoveryGate site, check to see if there is a tab indicating an available software update in the upper right corner:
Click the tab to download updates. You will need to restart your browser for the changes to take effect. If your DiscoveryGate software is up-to-date, you should not see the tab:
Getting help
Please contact the chemistry librarians if you have any questions, comments, or issues with DiscoveryGate.
