• Everyone agreed on holding the event in conjunction with the University's Earth Day event

• The following were the ideas for the cycling tables:
  • Bike assessment: where people can bring their bike for an assessment of what may need to be tuned up, replaced, etc... This would be run by Cycling Club members
  • Bike Safety: where people can come to learn about safety tips, how to properly lock a bike, what the cycling rules are in North Carolina and on campus, educate motorists on dealing with on-the-road cyclists. This would be staffed by Campus Police and Transportation and people can register their bike right there.
  • A local bike shop
  • Bike Commuters: information for people interested in bike commuting and for people already bike commuting
  • Cycling Club can provide information on their club, bring out their rollers and bikes, etc...

• Other ideas for the event:
  • Poker ride (Paul and Campus Police working on that)
  • A raffle to entice people to register their bikes, come to the booths, etc... Perhaps a local bike shop would dontate an item or two: head lamp, helmet?
  • Have a bag of goodies to hand out: educational fliers, reflectors or some other inexpensive item, coupons
  • provide "route" information

• Adverstising -- it will be important to do some good advertising. Once we can confirm the different events, we can start putting together a plan for promoting the event.
