1.25.07 - We are currently brainstorming ideas for potential new games, crafts, and interactive events. Once we meet tomorrow, we will post a list of current ideas (drawing on past games used and then thinking of new ways to draw the crowd in and educate them). If you have any suggestions for new, interactive games/crafts or you really enjoyed a particular game/craft from last year, please let us know. We are with the Office of Energy Management and will be focusing most of our efforts on that, but would most definitely like to include other areas. If you are with other groups such as SSE, CEST, the NCSU Solar House, the campus GREEN program, campus recycling, or anything else related to, please let us know if you will be including any interactive games with your tables (or if you will not be tabling, but still want to include or pitch in an interactive game for your area of interest), please let us know so we know that all areas of sustainability are covered for our interactive games. 1.26.07 - Natasha and I, Gabrielle, had a meeting with Edward Sekmistrz and three of his staff at the Office of Energy Management today. The objective was to begin collecting ideas on what the Energy Management Department could offer at their table on Earth Day. After noting the key events from last year we decided that the Million Dollar Challenge was importand and should be incorporated. Since the energy bike did so well last year the office would like to purchase an energy bike for further events but that's still undecided. CC had an idea of a "Leaky Faucet Display" that would show the audience the importance of reporting leaks and the display will be able to show how much water is wasted at a certain rate...we will decide further along on the design and practicality. We, also, want to use the solar oven again...food is always pleasing. Lastly, we want to have a contest to have students, faculty, and staff engaged in our department activities-to include giveaways but not to exclude games!!! Who doesn't want free stuff?
