Printer drivers--I have a copy of the driver for the color laser jet in the faculty lounge--see me to install. For the other printers, on PCs, use the "Add a printer wizard" to see if you already have the driver installed, if not, go to HP website and search using the printer number (example: 2250 DN)

Three things you should know about adding a printer: 1) you need to select "Local printer" (yes it's counter-intuitive, just trust me) and uncheck the "Automatically detect plug and play printer option". 2) You need to create a new port (Standard TCP/IP) and enter the IP address (they are taped to the printers and begin with 152). 3) When the wizard wants to install the driver, make sure you get the printer model right. I highly recommend printing a test page when you're done.

Other things:

The wireless signals in the graduate offices are not the best. We are looking to improve the signal, but if you are having problems in the meantime, please see Andy (andy_nicholas@ncsu.edu) for an IP address to use the wired connections.

There is a copy of KaleidaGraph installed on one of the computers (it may be one that is currently down).

PAX officers: I backed up the PAX DO NOT DELETE folder onto my personal external hard drive this summer. If you need to access the file, please let me know.

Emma - is this what we're suppose to do with this page? The toner is out in the printer in 227. -Olivia 1/13/09

1/13/09--The tonor is replaced.

Emma! GS5 just froze. Ctl-Alt-Del isn't working. Trying to turn off the CPU isn't working. Nada. And it's frozen with my personal e-mail acct on the screen (of course). I'm going to turn off the monitor and put a note on it. -olivia 9:00AM 1/15/09

Nevermind. I wasn't holding the CPU button in long enough. It needs to be held about 5 seconds, versus an impatient 2. GS5 is back up. -olivia 12:05 1/15/09
