This wiki was created as a resource for staff in the Division of Student Affairs, but others on campus are welcome to share their ideas.

Surplus

• Division LANTechs should send surplus announcements to Leslie Dare for distribution to other Division LANTechs; let's share with each other first before offering up surplus to other campus LANTechs
• Go "shopping" at the Surplus Warehouse (Monday - Thursday); you will be amazed at the amount of equipment ready to live a new life in your office!

Recycling

• New electronics and software come with extensive packaging. Be sure to recycle everything possible. (Link coming soon.)
• Utilize Campus Recycling resources.

Miscellaneous

• Unplug electronic devices when not in use.
• Charge mobile devices through a USB cable connected to the computer (instead of using a wall socket).
• Reduce printing overall (instead of distributing many copies, put content on bulletin boards, the web or in email messages)
• Reduce color printing (color is nice, but b/w is often sufficient)
• Consider purchasing a warranty for equipment that can be repaired instead of replaced.
