- File formats are used appropriately
- Links to necessary plugins are provided
- Meta data is present
- All pages have an appropriate title
- Headings are used to divide the page content
Presentation
- Pages have a consistent look and feel
- Pages have consistent navigation
- Fonts, colors, and styles are defined appropriately and are consistent
- Pages print out legibly
- Site is cross-browser compatible
Accessibility
- Skip navigation link is present
- Images have appropriate alternative text
- Tables have headers defined, as appropriate
- Any media is accessible or has an accessible alternative
- Links have meaningful text (i.e. not 'click here')
Graphics
- Graphic files are compressed appropriately
- Graphic file formats are used appropriately (only JPG, GIF, and PNG)
- Create at least 1 custom graphic
Site Management
- Site is published to an appropriate NCSU server
- Files are named appropriately
- Files are organized appropriately
- All links are valid
- Site is managed with templates and CSS as appropriate
Instructional Design
- Welcome/Orientation to the site is present
- Content contains appropriate course information (syllabus, calendar, etc.)
- Links to appropriate campus resources are present (e.g. departmental home page, library resources, honor code, etc.)
- Links to appropriate non-NCSU resources are present (e.g. news sites, blogs, professional societies, etc.)
- Content is well organized (content is divided up appropriately, there is a clear direction to the course, etc.)
- Students can engage interactively with the content in the site (e.g. quizzes, self-quizzes, forums, wikis, etc.)
