Journal abbreviations

If you only have an abbreviated title, one option is to type the abbreviation into the Journals tool for an "Anywhere in title" search. This tool is very good at resolving journal abbreviations, and will provide links to our subscription, if we have one. To find a journal in the library catalog, you need to look up the full title, not just an abbreviation. However, most references will only provide abbreviations, and there are too many variations to include them in the catalog.

Chemistry
Some common abbreviations in chemical literature:
Angew Chem - Angewandte Chemie
Ber - PROBABLY Berichte der Deutschen Chemischen Gesellschaft. MIGHT mean Berichte Biochemie und Biologie, or even something else beginning with Berichte.
Chem Ber - Chemische Berichte
JACS - Journal of the Americal Chemical Society
JCS - Journal of the Chemical Society
Org Syn Ann Vol - Organic Syntheses Annual Volumes
Org Syn Coll Vol - Organic Syntheses Collective Volumes
