Movie Showings
From WolfWikis
For the Earth Week we are holding a Video Showcase, higlighting interesting Environmental Films. An EXTREMELY useful website for Educational Environmental Films is Bullfrog Films at [bullfrogfilms.com]. I found some exceptional films that seem very informative and entertaining. Some films are short in length and pertain to similar topics so maybe some of the nights we can show a double feature.
- Risky Business (24 minutes)- genetically engineered plants and animals
- Hormone Imposters (47 min)- endocrine disrupting chemical damage
- Up Close and Toxic (45 min)-alarming levels of pollutants inside homes
- Cultivating Change (50 min)- growing and cooking food
- The Air We Breathe (49 min)- connection of respiratory diseases to pollution and urban sprawl
- Wake-Up Freddy (21 min)-path energy takes to get to the home
- Turning Down the Heat (46 min)- renewable energy sources and energy conservation
I was hoping to find a film on Drought or Water Conservation. But I could not locate a good one. This topic is extremely important and relevant to Raleigh's situation and the future.
