Poker Ride/Campus Ride

Tentaive time 11 - 1. Thanks to Jon and Peter for working to set this up. The ride goes something like this: Participants will go out on their own, starting from the brickyard (we will let them know the stops). They will draw a card at each stop. Participants may not keep redundant cards. If that happens, participant will redraw at same stop. Participants will use their best 5 cards as their poker hand. Best hand gets prize. Some runs offer prizes to the worst hand as well!

Tentaive stops are: 1. Brickyard - subjects must register their bike before participating/discuss dismount zone.

2. Free Expression - safe movement through the tunnel / dismount area

3. Entrance to Carmichael - discuss not using hand rail to secure bikes

4. Dan Allen / Student Services Lot - discuss intersections/rules of the road/ headlamp/ reflectors/

5. Current @ Stinson - discuss one way streets/ when to use sidewalk vs street

6. Brickyard - Bike locks /securing properly /review of other stops

Jon has indicated that Campus Police can provide 2 volunteers for the stops and police bike officers will ride the route with participants. We will still need additional volunteers. Adena will recruit from Transportation and the BUG listserv but please spread the word. All volunteers will get a Kick-Gas T-Shirt.

We will see if we can get the winners names in the Technician.
