General ideas
-Interact with objects in the environment to earn money and spend that money on certain resources or activities.
-Take on role, researching the person and historical contexts, and then engage in role play events.
-Conduct quests or voyages (maybe on the ship) to achieve certain objectives - these quests could be tied to historical events, places, etc.
-Create avatars and manage the resources of their character - perhaps using a “Life Meter” that measures food and water intact, clothing, money, health, happiness etc.
-Engage situations that require problem solving; maybe related to operating the ship or conducting a effort to capture Blackbeard.
-Play roles in a larger simulation that captures the dynamics of the relationships between Blackbeard and his fellow pirates and the people of North Carolina.
-Investigate specific artifacts from the shipwreck site (http://www.qaronline.org/artifacts/artifacts.htm - also see you CD).
-Investigate historical resources (some online at http://www.qaronline.org/history/history.htm) to determine the locations of Blackbeard’s activities.
