How are the practices evaluated by the company?

Post information here, use line breaks to separate your individual information. Use (*) to create bullets.

Elizabeth's information:

  • Brave new world team – a group of employees who created/manage the new system; a cross-functional team (nominated by employees themselves) to represent what the majority of the organization wanted in a new system.
  • Surveys, on-going feedback quarterly and annually.
  • No formal evaluation plan was set in place, taking it step by step, evaluating the process as they go along.

Lindsay's Information:

  • The company evaluates these practices by the feedback of the new system with all the employees. RedHat takes the Compass system and plans on tracking the company and employee’s goal to the achievement and successes of those goals.
  • If employees aren’t meeting any or little goals then determining if goals are set too high or if the motivation is gone will help the company better understand how to provide a more reliable performance management system.
  • If all goals are met then the company should determine if the system works extremely well or if the employees are being pushed enough.
  • Determine the performance management system and how accurate it is to the employee’s performance is huge because those evaluations determine raises, terminations, and employee development

Jeff's Info:

  • Weakness - No on-line blogging tool where employees can map their achievements. Currently they do it on paper; this makes managers waste time tracking down employees every time they want to check on their progress. Kelia - "We haven't provided what they (ees) really wanted which is ongoing feedback."...Red Hat is thinking about outsourcing the job of creating a blog. Elizabeth mentioned AIM as a tool that can be used as a blog.
