Thanks for the comment. If you mean that the wikis at NCSU were my idea, then no they were not. I am researching wikis this semester for a master's thesis in composition and rhetoric. I am studying how wikis can facilitate writing courses specifically and educational courses more generally. Any course that uses a wiki to make some contributions to student writing interests me currently. You chemistry course is interesting to me for many reasons, one being that you have put so much information on it. I wonder how your students are enjoying the wiki and are they contributing to the wiki themselves in any way? The specific wiki that you visited is my creation, but I did not come up with the idea for NCSU. (By the way, thanks for the misspelling correction). I simply implemented what was available and made my own to use as reference and research. I applaud your use of the wiki in a hard science course and wonder about its usefulness to you. I am developing some surveys for my thesis and wonder, would you mind if I sent you one, or linked you to it to fill out when it is complete. I am attempting to create an online survey that will only take a few minutes to fill out. Thanks again for the comment and best of luck with the wiki integration. Toby 10:26, 10 November 2006 (EST)

Danke für die Kategorisierung. Dies ist das erste Mal das ich mit wikis arbeite, und ich wusste nicht mal, dass man so etwas machen kann. Danke, Silke (szgroder)

Yes, I think the first page about groups, reps and irreps is much clearer and looks very nice. I'll try to help edit/critic the other pages more in depth soon. Rnharris 14:51, 13 May 2008 (EDT)

Professional chemistry research is not done with Google and Wikipedia!

Thanks for the comment! Indeed I am much less skeptical of these tools all the time, and honestly, where would I be as a librarian without them?

I'll revise that statement a bit, but understand the perspective in which it was written. It's my job to teach information literacy, and all too often I see students trying to do everything with the easiest tools they can possibly use, Google and Wikipedia, and struggling. jkwilson
