  2. Students will learn who the Nazis and Hitler were.
  3. Students will learn about the physical and social enviroment of concentration camps.
  4. Students will learn about first-hand accounts of Holocaust survivors (Anne Frank, Eli Wiesel).

  2. SWBAT evaluate the social, political, and economical impacts of WWII.
  3. SWBAT construct personal journals/diaries reflecting their thoughts about the Holocaust.
  4. SWBAT research men and women who served in WWII.
  5. SWBAT write a biography of a man or woman who served in WWII.
  6. SWBAT identify the geographical locations of major WWII events on a map.

Learning Activities:

  1. Reader Response activities to texts
  2. Definitions of Number the Stars literary terms (setting, themes, characters, genre, plot, etc.)
  3. Comparitive essay of Number the Stars and Maus.
  4. Research of a person who served in WWII.
  5. Cumulating project on the Holocaust.
  6. Creating journal/diary entries.
